portfolio » Happy Food Grocery Store
![]()
This was the result of a User Experience for the Web course I took. Happy Food is a growing chain of grocery stores, similar to Ralphs. The goal was to design the user experience of an online storefront for Happy Food.
Persona
After researching the field, I conducted ethnographic interviews with grocery store shoppers. I then gathered all the data, looking for patterns in the research and extracting any interesting phenomena. Through this data, I identified various behavior variables, such as price (not important vs. important), who they were shopping for (themselves vs. family), shopping lists (no list vs. strictly followed list), etc. I then mapped the interviewees to the behavioral variables and identified some archetypal patterns from the behavioral variable clusters to develop the primary persona.
Scenario, Requirements, & Interaction Framework
From the persona, I then developed a scenario and requirements for the store. I then defined an interaction framework by identifying 'views' at a very high level and sketching a storyboard for a key path scenario.
Detailed Design
After finalizing the design, I created an overview/walkthrough on my design and then documented the various elements and behaviors of each interface for my key path scenario (check out feature) using wire frames.
